NEWSLETTER
Hi guys,
Maybe it's the general meltiness of my brain in the summer heat, but it seriously took me two weeks to put together this little newsletter for you. I didn't write any big words here. I didn't spout philosophy. I didn't even tell a good joke. So I have to blame it on a certain seasonal malaise. Malaise. It will be my only big word in the whole email.
In This Newsletter: + New Members: Welcome! + Album Release Date: Entropy 29 + Update: Little Light EP + Request: Reviews Needed
---------------------------- NEW MEMBERS: WELCOME! ---------------------------- I'd like to extend a very warm welcome and show of appreciation to all the new subscribers of this newsletter. I realize that some of you had never heard my music before the Little Light EP Giveaway, so I'll try to make this newsletter remotely interesting in an attempt to woo you with my charm. :)
---------------------------- ALBUM RELEASE DATE: ENTROPY 29 ---------------------------- It's no secret that I've been working on my fourth album since June 2002. It's been an embarrassingly slow process...a process that has turned me into a hermit and tested the limits of my patience and humility.
But now the album is finished, the tracklist is assembled, the artwork is complete and a release date is set ...so here's the little press blurb to prove it:
---- August 2, 2005 ENTROPY 29 RELEASE DATE After three years of obsessive tinkering and subsequent isolation, we're very pleased to announce that Terami's new album Entropy 29 (featuring the single "Little Light") will be released on November 29 2005.
The album (available on Terami's fledgling label, Madstone Records) will be distributed through online retailers, iTunes, and Terami's own webstore. Details for the pre-release sale will be announced shortly.
The album tracklist and audio samples of Mission to the Moon and Little Light are currently available on Terami.com.
(http://www.terami.com/e29.htm) ----
---------------------------- UPDATE: LITTLE LIGHT EP ---------------------------- I'm happy to announce that the Little Light EP Giveaway Project was a tremendous success. After a whirlwind four-day promotion, nearly 1600 orders were placed from 34 countries around the world. The final shipment of EPs was sent out on Monday, July 25, marking about a six-week assembly of packages by me and some pretty dedicated friends.
I greatly appreciate your support and enthusiasm. Without your ears, my sounds would feel lonely.
---------------------------- REQUEST: REVIEWS NEEDED ---------------------------- Since the Little Light EP isn't being sent to the press for reviews, I thought it would be fun to collect listener response instead. If you're a budding music critic or commentator, please share your thoughts on my message boards. http://www.terami.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=66
If you've already written something somewhere else and would like us to use a quote on my website, please send an email to info@terami.com with the URL to where your thoughts are posted.
Your review will be published here: http://www.terami.com/llep.htm
Thank you for letting me ramble. Even though it took me two sweaty weeks to organize my thoughts for this newsletter, it always feels good to place my heart in your arms.
Cheers,
Terami

MARCH 9, 2005 Sky Bleeds Scorpio interview/FAQ page updated with new info/interview re: Terami’s upcoming CD-Entropy 29.
Terami’s most recent newsletter: Welcome back to the sometimes amusing, sometimes informative newsletter that sometimes is sent out - and sometimes simply not. (Blah blah, technical difficulties, blah blah.) Fortunately, I've had lots of things happening to keep me busy. For example...
In this newsletter: + Update: Production on Entropy 29 is FINISHED! + Interview: Answering Questions about Entropy 29 + Article: Silenced Soul + Community: Terami.com Message Boards are up and running + Community: Profile on MySpace.com + Membership: Newsletter Changes
---------------------------- UPDATE: PRODUCTION ON ENTROPY 29 IS FINISHED! ---------------------------- In February, I officially finished the production of Entropy 29. After 2 1/2 years of writing, producing, recording, and generally spazzing out, the album is completed. The release date is not set yet, however, the album tracklist, cover art, etc. will be announced in the next month or so. In the meantime, let me tease you with this...there will be a Pajama Jams giveaway...a little different than before...but equally fun for me and free for you.
For lots of rambling, a few swear words, and an unfortunate amount of unoriginal observations, you can read my online journal at http://www.entropy29.com/. Sometimes I even talk about music.
---------------------------- INTERVIEW: ANSWERING QUESTIONS ABOUT ENTROPY 29 ---------------------------- There's a new, hopefully interesting interview with me about Entropy 29 on the fansite "Sky Bleeds Scorpio". The Q&A is at the bottom of this page: http://skybleedsscorpio.com/html/interview_faq.html
---------------------------- ARTICLE: SILENCED SOUL ---------------------------- Although it took me nearly a year to write, I was extremely honored to contribute this article to the healing website, "Silenced Soul". I encourage you to read the thoughts on my recovery from anorexia - not the lightest subject, but quite personal and intended to be helpful.

---------------------------- COMMUNITY: COLLECTING THE RAIN MESSAGE BOARDS ARE UP AND RUNNING ---------------------------- If you haven't visited Terami.com in a while, you might not know that the community message boards have been re-born! Unfortunately, the original boards were scorched by the last hosting company I employed. We're building from the ground up. If the spirit moves you, please join! Also: we're looking for suggestions for how to make the boards a better community for you.
This thread explains:http://www.terami.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22 ---------------------------- COMMUNITY: PROFILE ON MYSPACE.COM ---------------------------- Thanks to Eric (Cathedralheat on the message boards), now I have a profile page on MySpace.com. MySpace is a community for individuals, as well as a spot for artists/musicians to share their work. Music downloads, info, pictures, and more are available. Please visit! http://www.myspace.com/teramihirsch
Eric, thank you for maintaining this community for me!!
---------------------------- MEMBERSHIP: NEWSLETTER CHANGES ---------------------------- Lastly, since I have a new hosting company helping me with the function of my website, I also have a new system for sending out these newsletters. At the bottom of this email you should see a link that will allow you to update or delete the information we have for you on this list. If you wish to change the address this is emailed to...want to add your mailing address (which will come in handy during the giveaway...cough...) or if you just want to unsubscribe, click on the link and make the changes.
Thank you for your continued support, for reading this whole marathon email, and for being patient with me over the past year while I sorely neglected the internet in general. It's been nothing personal.
Cheers,
Terami

APRIL 2, 2004 Newsletter Update --------------------------- CD SALE: FROM THE ASH AND UNDISCOVERED GEMS ON CDBABY.COM ---------------------------- Both "From the Ash" (the crafty, slightly gothic re-mix album of "To the Bone" by Australian artist Dan Lloyd) and "Undiscovered Gems" (the compilation album released by Virt Records, featuring the song "The Breathing") are on sale at CDBaby.com. Individually, these CDs are regular price. However, if you purchase three or more albums that are on sale (they don't have to just be mine!) the price for each will be reduced to only $5. This means 3 CDs = $15. It's a killer deal. So if you've been sitting on the fence about making some musical purchases, now is your chance to creep out and save some cash.

PS: I just noticed that "From the Ash" is currently out of stock because people have already discovered this sale. So after my hype, you're going to have to keep cool for a few more days. Oops! (Hurry, Dan! Send them more CDs!) ---------------------------- CD SWAP: MIX CD TRADE GOING ON AT TERAMI.COM ---------------------------- Get in on the CD swap and discover some new music...and introduce some of your hidden treasures to new ears. If you'd like to participate in the mix CD trade going on at Terami.com, visit the message boards for the details on how to join up. This is the second swap that board members have organized and it's bound to feature some KILLER new music. Sign-ups have just started, so you're not missing anything...yet.
SWAP INFO HERE: http://www.terami.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=community_board;action=dis play;num=1080468078 --------------------------- ALBUM UPDATE: RECORDING ENTROPY 29 ---------------------------- Well, progress is finally mine. It's been almost two years since I wrote the first song intended to be on this album, "Scorpio". I've scribbled out several tunes since then, and now I see an end to the project. Most of the songs have been tracked, leaving only some vocals and guest violin parts to be added.
I hesitate to make promises because I almost always have to backtrack when it comes down to it, but the album will likely be finished by June. The release date has not been set yet, but I'm eyeing late October. So that's, what? Only a year and a half late?

SEPTEMBER 5, 2003 Newsletter: WEBSITES GALORE ---------------------------- We certainly didn't set out to win any website competitions...but I've been spending a good part of this summer overseeing some new sites that will hopefully enhance your experience with my music online.
1. TERAMI.COM: http://www.terami.com This site has a new, purdy design which reflects more of the direction I'm taking with the new songs for Entropy 29.
2. ENTROPY29.COM: http://www.entropy29.com This is the official website for my upcoming album. Currently, it's pretty much a journal site. Each week I'm asked several times for updates concerning the release, and I thought it would be fun to keep track of my progress online so you can stay in the mix.
3. TOTHEBONEMUSIC.COM: http://www.ToTheBoneMusic.com This site is ALL about my current release, To the Bone. Read the story behind the album, listen to song samples of all 12 tracks (RA and MP3), catch up on the press reviews, learn about our equipment, and, of course, easily buy the album! **You can submit your own testimonial about this album via the site and your comments will be published on its pages! Be the first to write a review.**
4. ALLGIRLBANDMUSIC.COM: http://www.AllGirlBandMusic.com This site is ALL about my debut release, All Girl Band. Much like it's counterpart ToTheBoneMusic.com, this site also features "Making All Girl Band" - an article about creating the lo-fi album, song samples from each track (RA and MP3), press reviews, equipment schematics, and also an easy purchase page! **You can submit your own testimonial about this album via the site and your comments will be published on its pages! Be the first to write a review.**
---------------------------- STICKFIGURES IS AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD ---------------------------- For a limited time, when you purchase To the Bone or All Girl Band on CDBaby, we will send you a link with full downloads of each song on Stickfigures, which is no longer in print. Also included are the lyrics, stories behind each song, and a writeup of the original album packaging found on the cover and insert. Read more about it here: http://www.terami.com/pajamajams/sf_purchase.htm
------------------------------ NEW ALBUM: FROM THE ASH (remixes by Dan Lloyd) ------------------------------ We're proud to announce the first remix album of Terami Hirsch's music, "From the Ash". These interpretive songs based on Terami's 2002 release "To the Bone" are crafted by Australian artist Dan Lloyd. Poetic and gothic, "From the Ash" melts the original dark pop songs into brooding, atmospheric compositions, gently tinged with a thin Victorian piano.
Tracklist: Storming (Stained), Fire (Conflagration), Falling (Section), Fire (Desolation), Raising the Dead (Reverie), Paperweight (Interlude), Fathomless (The River), Stained (157 Mix), Until You (Section)
"From the Ash" will be available online at CDBaby.com in late September 2003.

MARCH 24, 2003 UPCOMING RELEASE - ENTROPY 29 With a release date yet to be set in the summer of 2003, Terami is currently recording her fourth album, Entropy 29. In January 2003, she released (3 of X), a limited edition promotional EP featuring three tracks from the upcoming project. "...a wonderful, authentic sense of urgency...I'm definitely looking forward to the album" (Neile Graham, editor, The Ectophiles' Guide to Good Music).
While shy of calling Entropy 29 a concept album, Terami admits that listeners should expect a tight theme in this collection of songs. "I want to tug at nostalgic strings and bring formative experiences to light. I'm writing as direct and as clear as I know how. This is about watching the road behind you dissolve as the road ahead remains unconstructed. And I want to embrace them both."
Entropy 29 is currently in production. A release date will be announced in the coming months.
